How To: Side Brain – 8 Buttons(Nintendo controller as a MIDI Controller)

In my last post I linked my 8 buttons video where I played a live beat on a Nintendo Controller.

In this post I’ll show you how I set everything up. It’s not so simple to play an entire beat with only 8 buttons :)

The main trick was to layer sounds in the Drum Rack. Adjusting the Volume and Pitch envelopes so it will give me different sounds when I hit short or long the buttons. And using a combination of the built-in MIDI effects to play the lead sound.
