It’s been a year since my last post. What a crazy year it was.
But time to get back to it no? I got a special personal rack that I use all the time on my drums. A combination of compression, transient shaping, and saturation with added parallel spatial effects.
This rack is using a free plugin called GClip to hard clip at the end of the effect chain.

Macros
Drive– Waveshaping distortion from the Drum Buss
Crunch – Mid/High Distortion
GAINNN – Controls the makeup gain of the Glue Compressor before the last stage of Soft and Hard Clipping
Saturate – Analog Drive before final clipping
Room Space – Drums Plate reverb
Groove Echo – Syncopated 1/4 notes for added groove
Gain -> – The amount of gain in Gclip
<-Clip – Amount of final stage clipping
Installation
- First, download the free GClip plugin and install
- Double click on the downloaded file to open it up in Ableton Live
- Click on the Save button at the top right corner of the device to save to your User Library
** Two versions included in the download one for Ableton Suite 10.1.41 or above and one for Ableton Suite 11.0.12 or above
